Piaggio Expansion
Piaggio have signed a 130 million-euro ($168 million) credit line
with international banks to re-finance its medium-term
growth.
The four-year credit line was underwritten by Bank of America
Corp., BNP Paribas SA and HSBC Holdings Plc, Piaggio said in
regulatory filing. It is “extendible up to 200 million euros through
syndication,” the company said.
Piaggio will use the credit line to re-finance debt maturing in
2012 and fund international growth projected in its 2012-2014
business plan, which includes boosting production in Vietnam and
development of the Moto Guzzi brand.

Moto Guzzi V7 range for 2012
Milan, 4 November 2011.
In a special preview presentation, the Piaggio Group unveiled a
selection of new models due to be launched next Tuesday at the EICMA
2011 press conference; the 69th International Motorcycle Show in
Milan.
The Milan show will mark the debut of the new 2012 Moto Guzzi V7
range, which now comprises three models - two tourers and a cafe
racer- the V7 Classic , V7 Special and V7 Racer.
These completely new bikes will deliver greater power (10%
increase) and speed
than their predecessors, but are all based, in architectural terms,
on the 90° V-twin engine with cardan-shaft transmission (now used on
all Moto Guzzi bikes) and a double cradle frame.

Royal Enfield's 4-star review: The Telegraph
The Royal Enfield Bullet 500 has been awarded four out of five
stars by Kevin Ash of The Telegraph.
"Economy is as vintage as ever, with Enfield claiming 80mpg,
although gentle riders will be able to cram even more miles into a
gallon".
"It’s now viable as an everyday commuter bike, which the old one
wasn’t unless you didn’t mind wielding spanners every other evening,
and if you’re prepared to think and ride a little laterally, this is
a realistic and infinitely more characterful alternative to a
scooter or bland commuter bike".
"The old Bullet was being killed off by modern regulations, and
this new one brings all the charm and character back, as well as the
authenticity of following on directly and being made in the same
factory, by the same workers. A slice of history, new and with a
warranty..."
Now available in red, with gold lettering and special anniversary tank decal.
Royal Enfield EFi Review: Jay Leno
Featuring a black and chrome tank with gold
pinstripes and rubber knee pads, the Electra EFI DL captures the
essence of the 1955 Royal Enfield Bullet.
Chrome mudguards front and rear,
chrome tool box covers and authentic Avon Speedmaster tyres enhance
the period appearance of this 500cc air cooled single, and the
impression of a classic British bike is reinforced by its
distinctive exhaust note.
On the road price in the UK, including two
year warranty, is £4895.
Royal Enfield (UK) Dealer Conference 2011
This year's conference took on a slightly different format - an
informal, hands-on event, with dealers taking part in a 140
mile rideout across the Cotswold countryside, stopping for coffee at
the Gloucestershire and Warwickshire steam railway, followed by
lunch at the Watsonian factory, home to Royal Enfield in the UK.
In the afternoon the group rode to the market town of Witney,
(now famous as the constituency of Prime Minister David Cameron),
where they were given a private tour of the Wychwood brewery, famed
for its craftily crafted Hobgoblin ale.
The day was rounded off with an informal dinner at which awards were
presented to the best-performing dealerships, won for the ninth
consecutive year by Haywards of Cambridge.
Royal Enfield World Record
Bangalore, 30th October 2010
Indian Army personnel broke a world record by being the only team in
the world to cover a distance of 1000 meters carrying 48 persons on a single
moving 500 cc Royal Enfield motorcycle.
The motorcycle team of the Indian Military Corps, 'Shwet Ashwa' set this
record on Saturday, 30th October, and repeated the feat for the media and
public the following day.
The group earlier had the unique distinction of holding a world record of
crossing 225 meters carrying 151 men on 11 motorcycles .The feat was
acknowledged by Guinness Book of World Records in 1999.
"We have more to show. We have already done a pyramid on 11 motorbikes and
we would go much beyond this," said M.G. Rajan, leader of the group 'Shwet
Ashwa' .
Earlier, the world record was held by Brazilian Army Corps for carrying 47
persons on a 1200 cc Harley Davidson motorbike established on December 15,
1995.
