Moto Guzzi California Aquile 2010

Now in stock - 2010 specification Moto Guzzi California Aquile.
"The California is Moto Guzzi's
most famous custom model, and one of the best known
and loved bikes in the world.
Conceived in the early 1970s for
the American market, it has made a name for itself
in all five continents, earning universal acclaim
for its bold image and impeccable road presence.
The Black Eagle California body
work is a Coal Matt Black which gives the tank, side
panels, mudguards and engine block a sophisticated
and stylish look. The matt finish emphasises the
contrast of the metal elements such as the aluminium
cylinders and the generous chrome which is applied
to the wheels, exhaust and control panel for maximum
impact. The classic styling of the California Black
Eagle is enhanced further by the momentous return of
the historical Moto Guzzi badge, with a large golden
eagle spreading its wings majestically against the
name Moto Guzzi.
Due to its stripped down
specification, the Moto Guzzi California Black Eagle
presents itself as a more aggressive bike and as a
result is superior in agility and responsiveness,
appealing to those who enjoy a more spirited riding
style." Source: Moto Guzzi

Royal Enfield at the Cosford Air Show

Jaguar ground attack aircraft
with Royal Enfield Trail Bikes
Two Royal Enfield Trail bikes were chosen to carry
out emergency, escort and logistics duties by the
RAF at the 2010
Cosford
Airshow.
Both machines were used continuously between 6.30am
and 8pm with numerous starts, crawler work and
periods of brisk "situation attendances" in
temperatures of 25 degrees, interspersed with
torrential thunderstorms.
'RAF personnel heaped praise on the machines all
day, especially when the weather turned nasty in the
afternoon and the vintage trials pattern Ensign
tyres enabled them to get the large crowds [50,000
estimated] away safely" reported Rob Jones, General
Manager at Royal Enfield UK (second from left).
New Product: Muc-Off Nano Tech Cleaner

"Muc-Off Nano Tech Cleaner has an incredibly
effective cleaning formula containing “Nano
Technology” that also cares for your bike’s delicate
finishes. It contains no harmful acids, CFC’s or
solvents, is NONTOXIC and fully biodegradable.
In the past, bike cleaners have been formulated
using “Micro Scale” materials which are
approximately 1/80th the size of a human hair. Muc-Off Nano-Tech
cleaner is formulated using “Nano Scale” materials
which are approximately 1/80000th of the diameter of
a human hair. This dramatic reduction in material
scale allows the Muc-Off formula to penetrate
far deeper into dirt, oil and grime and gently break
it down on an atomic and molecular level. The dirt
is then rinsed away easily and safely with
water, leaving behind corrosion inhibitors for
future protection. A painted or metal surface may
look smooth to the naked eye but under a microscope
it’s full of peaks and troughs. Nano sized particles
are able to fill these microscopic areas and bond to
form a smooth protective layer that makes it harder
for dirt to adhere to the surface next time you
ride." Muc-Off UK

Tax News: Motorcycles now
100% tax deductible for
the self employed
The Get On Campaign group, set up by motorbike
and scooter manufacturers to promote two-wheeled
travel, says it has identified a change to the
Finance Act which means self-employed riders buying
a bike solely for business use can deduct 100% of
its cost from their taxable profits by claiming it
as an annual investment on their tax return.
John Shaw, of Chartered Accountants Bentleys:
"Motorcycles are no longer treated for tax purposes
like cars, but as plant and equipment. This has a
significant effect on the amount of tax relief you
can claim when you buy a motorcycle for use in your
business.
"Company cars are limited to a 20% or 10% annual
tax write-down unless they have a carbon footprint
emitting below 110g of CO2/km – in which
case you may qualify for a 100% allowance. The same
criteria no longer apply to motorcycles. Whatever
their CO2 emission, 100% of the cost is
potentially available as a tax write-off in the year
of purchase."
Mike Warburton, chartered accountant Grant
Thornton's lead expert on personal taxation, says
the change will give the so-called baby boomers a
chance to re-live their childhood. "The new rules
allow bikes to be treated as plant so that, in most
cases, business owners will be able to claim the
whole cost against tax at their top tax rate. So you
can enjoy the freedom of the open road and know that
the tax man is subsidising you."
